Duration Assertion use and apply with example in apache jmeter

The Duration Assertion check that each response for request was received in a given amount of time. if response time taking more than assigned response time the request marked as a failed response.

What is Apply to in Duration Assertion?

Apply to basically ask for in which response you want to apply Duration Assertion.

  1. Main Sample : What you hit single request and you get single response it’s called main sample.
  2. Sub Sample:  When you hit a single request(but it’s also sub request) and you get multiple response it’s called sub sample.

Example: you hit a website html page and it has css and images etc they will count as sub sample and html page response will count as main sample.

Apply Duration Assertion and use

Duration Assertion given in number of milliseconds .

Use for single Request

if you want to apply the duration assertion for a single response add below at the request and set your duration limit in milliseconds.

Use for all Request

if you want to apply the duration assertion for a all responses add below to the Thread and set your duration limit in milliseconds.
